TIMBERLINE RULES & REGULATIONS

1. SAFETY IS OUR #1 PRIORITY AT TIMBERLINE!  Golf activities can be dangerous.  BE CAREFUL!  Players and spectators assume all risks and Timberline Golf & Events will not be liable for injuries or property damage.  All players are encouraged to use caution and be aware of your circumstances at all times.  If you hurt someone or damage someone else's property, YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE!  Mainly, be sure to allow all other players ahead of you to clear the green and area before playing.  Don't walk behind or near anyone who may swing a club!  
2. WE ARE HERE TO HAVE FUN!  If it isn't fun, you probably aren't doing it right.  We are proud of our casual atmosphere and relaxed format.  We don't have stuffy rules, funny dress requirements, or silly qualifications.  Everyone is welcome as long as you behave!
3. We are a FAMILY FRIENDLY business.  Please refrain from any vulgarities, swearing, angry outbursts, yelling, throwing objects, or temper tantrums!  Be courteous and KIND!  If you break the rules, you may be asked politely to leave and come back another day.  We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone.  Simply BE KIND and everything will be fine.  
4. Golf is a game of rules, skill, and etiquette.  While Timberline is a very casual atmosphere, please do your best to follow the general rules and practices of the game.  If you ever need help or have questions, please ask.  
5. Identify your ball and inform others in your group of what all type you are playing.  If you need additional balls, you may purchase them for $1 per ball from the pay shack.  
6. AVOID SLOW PLAY.  It is important for the experience and enjoyment of others to keep up the pace of play.  Most players can walk and play an entire round of 9-holes in about 60-70 minutes.  Please do not hold up the play of individual players or groups behind you.  If you are a slower player or group or would prefer to take more time, please let players behind you play through.  
7. Replace your divots and ball marks, especially on tee boxes and greens.  Using a tee, knife, key or repair tool, repair the mark by working the edges towards the center, without lifting the center of the mark. Don't tear the grass. Finish by smoothing the area with a club or your foot. Try to get the area smooth enough to putt over.  If you need help, please ask - we will be happy to assist you.  
8. PETS ARE NOT ALLOWED!  AND WE ARE NOT A DOG-PARK!  
9. Please be advised that WE USE RECLAIMED WATER AT TIMBERLINE.  

ON THE GREEN

• Don't step on your fellow players putting lines -- the imaginary line that connects the ball to the hole.
• If your ball is on a player's line, volunteer to mark the ball.
• If your ball is not furthest from the cup: mark your ball, either with a plastic marker or a small, thin, dark coin such as an old penny.
• After you have marked your ball, place your putter down at a 90-degree angle with the heel touching your marker.
• Move the marker from the heel to the toe of your putter. Reverse the procedure to return the ball to its original position.
• Do not stand where you might distract a fellow player and don't move.
• Don't make any noise when your fellow player is preparing to putt.
• If you don't have a caddie and are asked to tend the flagstick, make sure you aren't standing on anyone's line.
• Hold the flagstick at arm's length so the flag doesn't flutter in the breeze, and make sure your shadow doesn't fall across the hole or line. Loosen the bottom of the flagstick so it doesn't stick when you try and remove it by pulling it straight up after the other player has putted. The flagstick should be removed right after the player has hit the ball.
• If you lay down the flagstick, lay it off the green to prevent doing any damage to the green.
• Generally, the player closest to the hole will tend the flagstick.
• After everyone has putted out, immediately walk to the next tee.

MISCELLANEOUS:  

• If you hit a tee shot into the woods and suspect that it might be either lost or out-of-bounds, the Rules of Golf allow you to play a second or provisional ball.
• You then have three minutes from the time you reach the spot where you suspect the ball landed to find the ball. If it is not found within that three-minute period, you must declare it lost and play your provisional ball with a one-stroke penalty
• If, however, you play the provisional ball and subsequently find your original ball in-bounds, you must pick up your provisional and continue to play the original ball, in-bounds.
• Out of bounds balls are assessed the penalty of ""stroke and distance.""

• For safety's sake, never hit when there's a chance you might be able to reach the group ahead of you, and anytime you hit a shot that you think even has remote chance of hitting any other players, yell "Fore" immediately, and make a point of apologizing to any players your ball lands near.
• Displays of frustration are one thing, but outbursts of temper are quite another. Yelling, screaming, throwing clubs or otherwise making a fool of yourself are unacceptable and, in some cases, dangerous to yourself and others.
• As a player, you also have a responsibility to learn and understand the Rules of Golf.
• Finally, at the end of the round, shake hands with your fellow players, congratulate the winners, console the losers, and thank them for their company. At the end of the day, the great pleasure of the game is the time you get to spend with your friends whether old friends or new friends you just made through the game.

This pass may only be used by the registered holder for unlimited golf at Timberline Short Nine during the 2024 season.  This pass is non-transferable, non-refundable, non-exchangable, not valid for cash, and may not be resold.  This pass must be displayed with photo identification and check-in is required before every round of golf.  This pass is not valid for non-golf events or other discounts.  It is anticipated that Timberline golf course will be open daily Monday through Saturday (closed on Sundays) from April 22nd through October 31st for the 2024 season. All access is subject to potential temporary closings for private events, special events, course buyouts, inclement weather, maintenance requirements, or other conditions beyond the control of ownership and staff which may occur from time to time with or without notice.  The Passholder also gives consent to appear in photographs or video which may be used in marketing efforts. This pass may be revoked without refund and the Passholder removed from the property for any misuse, failure to abide by applicable terms and conditions or conduct detrimental to the property and to other visitors experience including theft of property or services, violations of Federal, State, and Local laws, assisting any person to obtain unauthorized access, violation of course rules, safety procedures, vandalism, disorderly conduct, intoxication, and possession of intoxicating liquors, drugs, or weapons.  Passholder agrees to hold-harmless Timberline ownership and staff from all liabilities. Timberline is a FAMILY-FRIENDLY property and experience intended to be enjoyed by all guests and visitors. If this Season Pass is lost, stolen, or forgotten, the card can be replaced during normal business hours for a non-refundable replacement fee of $25.
